The following is a guide to what fields in Filevine will be mapped to the corresponding fields in Case Status depending on how the integration is configured.
Upon setup, a Firm can decide whether they want the staff members to be pulled from the Contacts tab or the Team tab within Filevine.
Filevine V3 (Process Matter Logic)
The V3 of Filevine logic was rolled out in September 2022, and includes all the same functionality as V2 with the following changes and enhancements to the integration:
Project Team
Attorneys
We offer the ability to set the Primary Attorney in Case Status based on a setting of ‘first primary’ or ‘primary’. In addition, the custom Filevine role can also be taken into account when assigning a primary.
We will default to ‘first primary’ unless set to ‘primary’. By default, the Primary on a case will be the Team Member with a Team Role that contains the word ‘Attorney’ and is marked as either the ‘first primary’, or 'primary' depending on your setting.
Case Managers
If the Case Manager exists in Case Status, they will be assigned.
Levels
Updates have allowed you to set which levels you choose to assign from. Followers, Collaborators, and Guests can be assigned or any combination of those levels. Unless set to a specific level, we will assign members from all levels.
Project Contacts
Attorneys
Within a case, all Contacts with the role of 'Attorney' will be assigned to the Case in Case Status. Additionally, if the Primary Attorney does not already exist in Case Status, the integration will create the Primary Attorney.
If you choose, the Primary on a case can be customized to your choice depending on the role you assign.
Case Managers
If the Case Manager exists in Case Status, they will be assigned.
